Apiranthos: Apiranthos is one of the most popular villages of the island, as it has elements of the typical Cycladic architecture. The cobbled streets with vaulted arches, the stone houses, the squares with the traditional cafes, as well as the impressive Venetian towers make up the beautiful image of this picturesque mountain village.Filoti: Filoti, the largest village of Naxos, is built at the foot of Mount Za at an altitude of 400 m and 18 km east of Chora. It has a rich tradition, paved alleys, important monuments, while in the large central square under the shade of the century-old plane tree one can enjoy a coffee or traditional snacks.
If you are eager to explore you will also find in Filoti the cave of Za, which is dedicated to the god Zeus of Greek Mythology.
Chalki: Almost 12 km away from Plaka, on the plateau of Trygaia, you may find one of the most beautiful villages of Naxos, Chalki. Both the architecture of its houses with their paved courtyards and the natural landscape of this village make up the unique aura of this place.
Koronos: Koronos is one of the oldest and largest mountain villages of the island at a distance of 26 km from Plaka. It is built on the slopes of a green valley with springs that are alive and during the summer that is filled with tourists and offers a real authentic experience.
